Dear Santa

Hi,

As once again I'm participating in the Secret Santa run by Ian and the Inestimable Cathy, it's time for the annual posting of the wish list.

This year is kind of tough.  I've not been doing a ton of painting and playing of late, mostly due to time and energy levels being low.  The urge is there - I want to paint lots of stuff, orks to play against the boy, Brets and Khorne ditto, Bolt action ditto, Muskets and Tomahawks Acadia, even ancients and Napoleonics.  But it seems most nights these days, by the time the kids are in bed, I either have work waiting for me, or am so burned out all I want to do is veg in front of the tube.

What I'd like from Santa this year is something to get my juices flowing again.  Stuff I'm most likely to paint and use would be orks, probably, but pretty much anything that fits in with one of my ongoing projects, and that's interesting or fun - something I'm not going to be able to not paint, if you get what I mean.  Cool ork bits?  15mm elephants for my antigonids?  Fun terrain for the Acadia project?

I guess that's not terribly specific, but it's honestly where my head is right now.  I hope that's enough guidance for my Santa.

  1. I'm in pretty much the same place as you are. I've spent the year renovating the house and at the end of the day I just need time to sit and do absolutely nothing. I've finally picked up the brushes again after a few months, but I'm ambivalent about posting. Maybe when the cold weather kicks in, the days are short and the nights are long I'll feel differently.

  3. Hope you get something funky, I actually found that my energy levels went up when I forced myself to paint. Try and have stuff set up to paint so minimum of `work` before the fun of painting kicks in.
